Utopia (TX),

The term utopia suggests a ideal vibrant community, where everyone would love to stay to clear their head or to come back home to. I was really looking forward to experience 'Utopia' and their citizens. But when I got there it felt like I entered an abandoned film set that would never be produced.

Utopia turned out to be a lonely place where people didn't invite a stranger over for a coffee. In Utopia people looked suspicious while a traveler would pass. Utopian properties where private, and shops mentioning guns being sold. Utopia was isolated. Utopia was serene and terrifying at the same time. While feeling unsafe and restless during my stay, the images I took felt honest and clean.
